Information for Authors

Cork University Press, established in 1925, is the oldest university press in Ireland and is the leading publisher of Irish Studies in the country. The academic subject range is broad, covering history, music, art and literary criticism, with the focus being on Irish cultural history, archaeology and landscape.  This is evidenced by our multi-award-winning Atlas series.  Proposals that meet the criteria of Irish Studies will be considered for publication.

How to submit a proposal 

Cork University Press welcomes unsolicited book proposals from within the field of Irish Studies. 

All such proposals are considered by the CUP academic editorial committee.  The Editorial Committee are responsible for deciding which submissions are approved.  Following approval the author will be informed and the submitted chapters will be subject to a rigorous peer review. 

Submitted proposals should include: 

* a completed author proposal form 

* two chapters of the text 

* a draft introduction  

* a table of contents. 

For edited collections abstracts of each chapter in the proposed book is required.
